Some Cooking and Some Crafting :)

Oatmeal cinnamon raisin cookies yum. :) That is what I made yesterday. Delish! Got my arm workout for the day since we do not have an electric beater...

I also steamed some green beans for hubby's lunch.

Some progress I havd made on my Mario QAL: Mario Block

Finished! On to Luigi now...

About 2 months ago I won a giveaway for 20 pieces of Kaffe Fasset fabrics!

My friend Stephanie's wedding Anniversary is comming up (and her brthday!) so I decided to make her something out of one of the fabrics she saw from this haul. She really liked this print and I wanted to do something fun so I made her a... well I can't tell you yet as I have not given it to her... BUT, here is a sneak peek!

While I was working o this last project I got a little careless and cut my finger with the supper sharp new blade on my rotary cutter.

No worries though, Buzz came to the rescue and stopped the bleeding!
Oh and I also burned myself a few times with the hot glue gun =D

The Real Tetris Quilt!

Ok finally I have this quilt finished. It did not really take that long to make it was really the motivation to get started (I have another giveaway quilt to make, hope I get motivated on that soon too). I have to say it was a lot of fun to design and sew up. I hop Irene likes it! My sister made a comment that she really likes it, so I just might have to make her one for Christmas.... hmmm ideas!

Fabric Shopping With Stephanie!

On Tuesday my Hubby drove Stephanie and I to M&L, one of our LQS, for some fabric shopping. He took some photos of the store and us. :)

Steph and I matching Moda and MM CC for our Mario QALs :)

Oh look, fabric....

Wait! More fabric! I am sure this is a familiar sight!

These are my purchases.

My Hubby likes to look at and find fabric also. These are what he found for me to make a quilt for a co-worker's baby. We have to narrow it down of course before we purchast the fabric. :)

2 Baby Showers!

On July 9th was Juliana's Baby Shower for her 5th baby. Little Ishcar. Some thing cool that their family does is naming all their sons after the tribes of Isreal. So far they Have Levi, Judah, and Asher. Their daughter Tatiana is the exception. Our friends Sarah and Ruth hosted at Sarah's house. They had some very fun and creative activities to do. There was tie-dye/make your own Batik design on onzies for the new baby. Here is mine that I made.

How to: Ust wash away glue (elmers white or clear works) to draw a design in the fabric. use watered down fabric paint and lightly paint over the glue and surrounding reas as you wish. The glue will wash out and leave that area untouched by the paint. I wouls suggest rinsing it our and then letting it dry all the way before you dye the item. When dry, dye and rinse, then dry again. Done!

Here is the line drying of the others.

We also decorated candles/holders with mod podge and magazine pictures.

We also drew on Juliana's belly with Henna.

On July 13th we had a shower for our friend Clair at Stephanie's house, hosted by Sophia. Stephanie and I worked on a quilt for Clair (she is having her 2nd boy!) using the Animal Party, Too! fabric line.

He took some better photos of the quilt with Stephanie's camera after the shower died down. I will post those later when I get them :)

I Will Call This Post "June Goodies"

Some projects I have been working on this last month:

The Mug Rug package I sent out for the 4th of July swap.

Oh and this is what I received :)
2 FQs, some patriotic napkins, a pillow pin coushin, and the lovely mug rug in the center there.

Some retail therapy: Shoes! What else... Hahaha.

Goodies from Grandma:

Aren't the food tags cute! (The Key Chain was not from grandma, I just stuck it with this random stuff).

Crafts I completed while on vacation:

Mug Rug (I finally put a backing on and )
 An easy cut-and-tie blanket for a friend's 22nd birthday!
A 100 knot Prayer Rope for my Dad (Eastern Orthodox Christian, if you were wondering).
