Some Swap Goodies, Going Out. And Othe Stuff

My secret partner in the Scrappy Mug Rug Swap had a Union Jack Flag in her collage and though I would try it out as I have never made one before. This was my first attempt.

Not so bad, but not enough fabric so I made it very squat and square. I like how it turned out so I will be keeping it for future use, swap or other.

This is the final produce that I will be sending her.

It is a little vintagy, I used a pasily print for the blue and linen fro the background color. For the backing I used this cool treasure map fabric, and the binding is ivy. I feel it is very colonial/1800s. Baby (our new kitty!) wanted to help out.

This block is for the Stash Bee Hive #2 leader for this month. Rachael asked that we not sew the quarters together so she can play around with the design when she receives all the blocks.

This was also my first legit attempt at paper piecing.

My Block Swap Adventure partner for the month of July sent me this lovely which I will be adding to my stash of WIPs.
This was from the August partner:

Long Beach International Quilt Fair

On Friday July 27th Stephanie and I attended the Long Beach International Quilt Festival. I know it has been a while since then, but to be honest, I just forgot to post about it. There were some wonderful quilts and I wanted to share a few of my favorite ones with you.

This lovely one is after my own heart, me being a dancer and all. It is too bad that you can not really see the detail of the stitching. Each body is quilted to look like muscles in motion. This quilt is truly a work of art.

This one was all hand quilted :)

Some loveliness from a few of the booths:

And some goodies I brought home with me :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Just some random stuff over the last month or so.

I pattern tested this embroidery pattern for (EEEk can't find it!..)... ANywhay, it is Harry Potter inspired.

Anyone elsa have these as a kid? I had a bear set (if I remember correctly). I love these! I totally want to purchase all of them and have them for my kids.
