February: RSC13 - Purple, New FO Challenge, Lovely Year of Finish

 

 

RSC13 Purple concludes with a tripple zip pouch. I was not in the zip-along but thought it would be fun to make one anyway.

 

My February finish is my 4th Tardis quilt order. I finished it just this last Saturday and it is shipping out to Canada this week :) This also counts as my New FO project. 2 in 1 :)

Valentine's Day

 

Valentines Day morning:
I spent all day (not really all day) making hubby his V-Day present. I wanted it to be something special, something he would use. So I decided to make him a neck tie. I used The Purl Bee's tutorial and pattern for her Father's Day Tie. It was supper easy and stitched up very quickly.



After I gave Hubby his tie he went to the car to get my present. He came in and handed me some papers. The first paper was tickets for us to see Kenny G in concert on Friday (tonight). I was thinking to myself that this was more of a gife for himself as I am ok with his music but not crazy about it. Then he told me to look at the other page.... It was tickets for us to see WICKED: The Musical in March for my Brithday!!! So exciting!!!!





After a morning of cuddling and watching Big Bang Theory, Hubby took me out to see Saft Haven. It is a sweet story :)





I had gotten my nails done last week for this occasion, Hubby calls it "The Queen of Hearts". We used a pintrest idea and made it love inspired.


After the movie we headed home, but not befor stopping at Sees Candy for some chocolate and Trader Joe's for flowers <3


Baby is inspecting the goods.

While we were out we went looking for a vase for the flowers (we only have one and it is currently housing my weding bouquet), I cam across this lovely watch (for only $20 at Stein Mart) and Hubby bought it for me too :)

February Fun (1-13)

With Valentines Day coming up I decided to have some fun on PicMonkey and play around with their themes.

 

 

 

 

 

I broke my rule I had set up for this year "purchase no new fabric" (picking it out in a fabric store. Online is ok). I could not help it, Joann's had this cute scissor print and I just had to get some... Now what to make with it, a zip pouch possible?

I decided to join The Frosted Punpkin Stitchery 2013 stitch along this year and so far they have come up with the cutest woodland creatures for this sampler.

While I was in the stitching mood I wipped this up from a kit I got at Michaels for $2.

 

 

I received this from my Pouch partner for Jan. Who can say No to Doctor Who?:

 

Continuing my yarn crafting, I wipped up this blanket for my daddy (Jan-Feb), Looks like Baby likes it as well.

  

 

 

Supper Exciting News!!

 

So 2 great things happened in the last week. I found out that I will have a goddaughter!!!

Meet Penelope Irene!!!

 

AND.... My Sister-in-law is PREGO!!!! I am so excited. She was a highschool friend and then one of my brides maids. In Oct last year she and my brother married. Such a lovely couple!

 

 

 

 

 

January Swaps and Projects Cont.

After making this lovely blanket I really wanted to make more circular blankets. I had two choices, a Bulls eye or a Target.

I asked Hubby and he said bulls eye.
