Pinned Up Pleasures (I was trying to be clever..)

DSCN2364

First off I would like to thank Madam Samm (@Sew We Quilt ) and  Kristen (@Meadowbrook) for hosting this event. I always love the hops and try to participate in as mayny as I can (I seem to do more hops in the late summer through december... hmm...)

Now, I would like to show off some of my lovlies (well I will let you decide that.)

These here I stitched up super quickly for the rommie swap last year at Sewing Summit, and my first ever (I loved it! Side note: If I still do not have a baby by next year I want to try really hard to go again!).

Last month on the 15th I freeked out and though it was my day already (I miss took the month :P) and rushed to get this pittiful thing created. Only to go to post it and find that I had a whole month (Whew!). It turns out this is the one I use the most.

Here are the pin cushions I own. The other two were given to me in swaps. :)

This is one I send out in exchange for the orange one (you can't tell but it is a Hexie)

Here is my work table all disorganized and ready to have PCs made :) All are being donated to church for Oktoberfest.

In keeping with the unmentioned owl theme, here is MY owl contribution. I actually really LOVE it and might have to keep it for my self.

A pile of what I can up with super quick.

I had these little cross stitch patterns all done up but I did not know what to do with them. Now I do.

This is a sample from a Joann store'r embroidery machine. I cut it out and stuffed it. What do you think?

Last year sometime (I am never able to keep track of when something was done if I do not log it right away) I was asked to test this pattern (I believe a post for it is in the archives) and I turned it into a chushion as well.

These are my favorites :) I loke to call them Bon-Bons. They look good enough to eat :) I used washi tape to hide to old edges of the lids.

My fave is the one with the Cheerys. Grandma offered to buy the blue striped one from me as well.

Now for a giveaway. You can see these lovlies here below. They are all yours, all you have to do is leave me a comment with a link to your fave pincushion pattern. (Hint: when you are on a web page, go to the top where the web address is, copy it and paste it in the comment box. Easy right?)

  9. Love your pincushions, but having 3 rescue kitties I have to use a magnetic pin cushion. Otherwise I have a little black female Bombay who helps me by pulling out pins with her teeth. Last night the older tabby grabbed thread from the machine and started chewing. So you see I have my challenges! Those give-aways would make a beautiful wall hanging or mini-quilt. Thanks for sharing.

  11. Lovely pincushions, all. The mason jars with room for some quilting notions, threads and such would make a neat thing for the guild country store table next March. HMMMMMM

THX for the giveaway opportunity. I really like this one from Curry Bungalow but it is a tie for the handbag pin cushion pattern from Linda at buzzing and bumbling.

  18. Your pin cushions are absolutely amazing. Your roomie swaps are amazing. It's funny how things work out - you hustled last month on the 15th to get you pin cushion finished and now it's the one you use the most! I can see why - it's adorable. The bow on the hexie is a great touch! I can see why Grandma wants to buy one of your pin cushions - they are just "over the moon!"
Now one of my favorite pin cushions although I haven't made it yet is - the mannequin pin cushion - there is a youtube for it:
    http://www.thediydish.com/2011/10/season-4-how-to-make-a-dress-form-mannequin-pin-cushion/
    and there is a pattern
    http://www.thediydish.com/promo/theDIYdish_Season4_Episode1_dressformpincushion.pdf
They suggest using candle holders for the bases. I think they are just adorable. I want to make one and have had the pattern downloaded for quite sometime.
    Thanks

  19. Love the bon-bons:) Wow, have you been busy making pin cushions. LOL on getting the date mixed up--I just figured out how to schedule a blog post which was really confusing for me last year in a hop. Thanks for sharing.

  26. How nice. I love you pincushions. I do not have a favorite pattern, mostly because I tend to design as I go. So my favorite pincushion right now is the one I made for this blog hop.

  27. I am enjoying the hop immensely. A whole extra month to use to make pincushions and you certainly made it worthwhile. I do like your "quick" creation, too; I'm thinking it's the lovely blues.
